Job Description Summary:
The purpose of this position is to provide technical and clerical support to staff and students in coordinating Texas and Federal study work-study programs and establishing accuracy and completeness of student files before awarding of financial aid.
This is accomplished by placing student work-studies in jobs on and off campus, ensuring time reports are turned in and housed within the financial aid office as federally mandated, assuring students do exceed budgeted earnings, contacting supervisor should earnings exceed award, monitoring students who drop below minimum enrollment required, reconciling Texas Work-Study and Federal Work-Study on a monthly basis between payroll reporting, the general ledger and amount posted to student FAM system.
Assist Director of Financial Aid Services in year ending reporting of Texas and Federal Work-Study (FISAP and FAD001). Also, by providing advice and counseling to financial aid recipients, assisting students with work-study application completion, explaining policies and procedures in regards to Texas and Federal work-study, assisting staff with related departmental paperwork and data during supervisor and student work-study orientation.
In addition to providing financial aid assistance to students during assigned counter hours and by phone by responding to questions on financial aid, the application process and other related matters, processing and filing applications, sorting and filing to ensure accurate process flow and processing folders for awarding financial aid, entering data and supporting supervisors and co-workers attempting to assist students in the process. This position is also responsible for performing the final review of a set group of selected financial aid files and completing all data elements on the computer system to ensure file is ready to award.
Prepare all correspondence to students concerning incomplete letters, award letters/emails, and emails letters to students in regards to their academic progress status pertaining to financial aid. Process all responses in regards to acceptance or rejection of financial aid awards. Traveling between East and West Campuses as needed, conduct presentations/workshops as needed. Other duties include entering information and maintaining records and assisting with general office activities.

Minimum Qualifications:
Associate’s Degree.
One (1) year related experience.
