We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Aid Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for packaging student aid, verifying student-reported data, reviewing eligibility for disbursements, and approving payments, while ensuring alignment with Federal regulations. This role involves auditing processes to maintain accuracy, assisting with program reviews and audit responses, and staying updated on US Department of Education guidance. The Financial Aid Coordinator will also ensure compliance with all state, federal, and accrediting agency requirements and provide regular updates and reports to management. Additional tasks may be assigned by the Supervisor as needed.
While previous experience in processing financial aid and knowledge of financial aid web modules is preferred. Special consideration will be given to candidates who demonstrate excellent customer service skills, prior administrative or sales experience, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
This position is responsible for processing and maintaining financial aid packaging and services, for Title IV and non-Title IV, in support of campuses.
JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Package student aid, verify student reported data, review students for disbursement eligibility and approve disbursements to pay. Reconcile student level disbursement data with Federal data.
• Audit processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness in all aspects of servicing functionality.
• Assist with program review/audit responses. Review and maintain familiarity with regulatory guidance from the US Department of Education.
• Adhere to FA Code of Conduct and ensure compliance with state/federal and accrediting agencies.
• Maintain regular status updates and upward communication to management to include: regular, established reporting, and action taken to resolve issues.
• Perform and complete other tasks that may be assigned by Supervisor
Education
• High School Diploma or GED, or equitable on-the-job experience
• College degree or a minimum of one (1) year of college level education
Experience/Skills
• Prior experience processing financial aid, knowledge and understanding of financial aid web modules preferred. Special consideration given for candidates who possess excellent customer service, prior administrative experience, sales experience, attention to detail and strong desire to learn.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven, compliance-oriented educational environment
• Detail-oriented, analytical, highly organized, and have the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
• Demonstrate a high level of integrity, strong work ethic, and professionalism
• Persuasive and effective verbal and written communication skills, with a strong focus on customer service in an educational setting
• Highly motivated and goal-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills
• Must be able to work independently and as collaborative team member and have exceptional interpersonal skills
• Excellent computer skills are required with proficiency in MS Office applications including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams. CampusNexus experience a plus.
• Ability and willingness to work outside of regular work shifts, including evenings and/or weekends as necessary or as requested by Supervisor
Schedule:
- Monday to Thursday: 9 AM to 6 PM, with one late day from 10 AM to 7 PM.
- Fridays: 8 AM to 5 PM.
- One Saturday: 9 AM to 1 PM every 3rd or 4th week.
- After training, evening hours may increase to 10 AM to 7 PM or 11 AM to 8 PM.
