Position Overview
Financial Aid & Scholarships (FAS) at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Financial Aid Counselor to join our Scholarship Team. This position will provide customer service and counseling to students and families regarding scholarship opportunities, eligibility, and the application process. This position will provide customer service support and guidance to campus partners regarding the administration of UNT scholarships and assist with the processing of scholarships to include awarding, financial aid adjustments, and review and completion of quality controls.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's Degree and two years' of office administration experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to problem-solve, multi-task and organize in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
• Ability to effectively communicate.

Required License/Registration/Certifications
Job Duties:
- Provide customer service and guidance to students, families, and campus partners regarding scholarship opportunities, eligibility, and related processes.
- Assist with review and completion of scholarship quality controls and related outreach to students.
- Maintain and apply knowledge of federal, state, NCAA, and institutional rules and regulations regarding the administration of scholarships and financial aid. Complete trainings as assigned.
- Provide customer service support and guidance to campus partners regarding the administration of UNT scholarships.
- Assist with processing of scholarship awards to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with applicable federal, state, and institutional rules and regulations.
- Participate in outreach initiatives that promote awareness of scholarships and other forms of financial assistance.
- Assist with officewide tasks such as aid adjustments and general financial aid scholarship customer service inquiries and tasks during peak times.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8-5pm, with occasional nights/weekends.
