Financial Aid - Director - D'Youville College

About the Job
The Director of Financial Aid is an integral part of the University Business Office team, working collaboratively with the Accounting, Bursar, Student Employment and Admissions functions to lead a student-focused department for administration of financial aid.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
- Manages and supervises all financial aid processes for awarding student loans, grants, and scholarship packages;
- Develops student costs of attendance (individual student budgets) including tuition, books, fees, room and board etc.;
- Monitors college work-study expenditures, students’ satisfactory academic progress, federal and state grant expenditures, etc.;
- Participates in the management of student receivable accounts with the Accounting and Bursar functions.
- Interprets and applies federal laws and regulations; college policies and regulations; and state regulations relating to the delivery of student financial assistance;
- Oversees, supervises, mentors and develops staff assigned to the Financial Aid office
- Contributes to the development and monitoring of fiscal policies; ensures compliance with university, state, and federal regulations related to financial aid processes;
- Maintains College’s Financial Aid data to assure timely and accurate submission of required federal, state and local reports; and needed support for internal and external audits.
- Develops and directs financial aid strategies that are consistent with the enrollment management objectives of the university and by administering financial aid, scholarships and student employment programs that support student recruitment and retention;
- Encourages customer-oriented staff interaction with students, parents, and administrators;
- Ensures that students are informed about their eligibility for financial aid by developing and directing a system for collecting and evaluating applications, and for the timely and effective awarding of all types of financial aid;
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in student personnel or related area
- Minimum of 3 years of increased administrative responsibilities for financial aid programs at a college or university.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
