Description We are offering an opportunity for a Financial Analyst I (Contractor) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The role involves a variety of financial tasks including processing network payments, reconciling payments, and providing financial analysis in the program accounting department. This role is a contract to hire employment opportunity, offering a chance to work with large data sets and perform in-depth financial analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately processing monthly network payments and accruals
- Reconciling payments and accruals and ensuring their accuracy
- Providing financial analysis reporting and general support for the Program Accounting Department
- Analyzing, reviewing, and modifying large data sets using various database and querying solutions
- Participating in the development and utilization of financial models and analysis
- Assisting with the preparation of weekly, monthly, and annual financial reports
- Researching variance to budget and forecast through detailed operational and financial metrics and explaining results
- Preparing and reviewing journal entries during month and year-end processes
- Preparing and analyzing monthly invoices and accruals to ensure accuracy to financial statements and subscriber reporting
- Assisting in process improvement and standardization projects by identifying risk areas and recommending improvements
- Reviewing audits presented by the networks and developing a process to streamline the efforts in the research analysis and tracking in this area
- Performing various ad hoc projects including researching, analyzing, and summarizing data/analysis requests as assigned. Requirements - Must possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Experience with financial reporting and auditing is necessary
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is required
- Must have the ability to perform ad hoc financial tasks and close processes
- Knowledge of SQL and Oracle databases is beneficial
- Familiarity with payment processing and budget processes is essential
- Should have experience in financial analytics and research
- Ability to review and understand financial statements and journal entries is important
- Experience with finance software such as 'About Time' is preferred
- Regular and consistent attendance is necessary
- Should have the ability to work in a networked environment
- Must be able to produce quarterly financial reports and statements
- Prior experience in financial statement analysis is a plus
