This job contributes to REI’s success by providing timely, convincing, relevant and technically sound financial analysis and recommendations that will assist end-users in evaluating corporate performance and support decision making. The Analyst provides this to the FP&A team and operational divisions through supporting financial analysis, management reporting, strategic planning, budgeting and leading special projects. The Financial Analyst II will sometimes work independently with the Division they support, representing the Finance Department as a subject matter expert.
- Supports ad-hoc financial analysis by compiling data, identifying trends, and recommending appropriate conclusions.
- Assists in the set-up, creation and execution of annual budgeting & strategic planning processes.
- Assists in month end financial close, including accruals, reconciliations, and flux analysis.
- Works with department managers to identify best practices for expense tracking and what metrics should be measured.
- Compiles reporting for each department that explains P&L variances and solicits feedback for forecasting.
- Create financial models and analyses to assist in the evaluation of projects, programs and product offerings.
- Produces budget justification analysis utilized by the Leadership Team to review, prioritize and make decisions on the proposed operating budget.
- Assists in the production of regular co-op reporting including Board Packets, Business Reviews, and key operational dashboards. Quantifies financial impact of strategic objectives, which are to be factored into the multi-year strategic plan.
- Supports ad-hoc financial analysis by compiling data, identifying trends, and recommending appropriate conclusions.
- Interacts with internal and external auditors, providing data and explanations on processes flows.
Required qualifications:
- 1-3 years of financial planning and analysis experience in Accounting/Finance
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or similar
- Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze and objectively solve problems using sound judgment
- Ability to effectively handle multiple competing priorities and deadlines under pressure
- Advanced PC experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred qualifications:
- Proven success executing a corporate-wide budget cycle
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience interfacing with Board of Directors and senior management professionals
- Experience with Essbase, SAP, and/or equivalent planning and ERP systems
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Experience working in the retail industry
- Champions the organization and advocates solutions in the overall Company's best interest
- Uses business knowledge, innovative thinking, and sound judgment in the solution of problems or the pursuit of business opportunities
- Experience data mining and extraction skills like; SQL, Python, R
- Expertise in Excel, Tableau, and/or other analytical and data visualization platforms
- Demonstrates a strong competency of Statistics
- Has developed business cases that use hard data analysis and demonstrates competency with key corporate financial principles such as IRR, ROI, and Depreciation

Base Pay Range:USD $63,300.00 - USD $101,500.00 /Yr.
