HJF is seeking a Financial Analyst III to support the HIV program under the Military HIV Research Program (MHRP) located in Bethesda, Maryland. The incumbent will assist in developing, interpreting and implementing financial concepts for financial planning and control. Maintain and develop complex financial reports to track program financial indicators.
The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.
Responsibilities:- Performs technical financial analysis of current expenses and projection trends to determine present and future financial performance of the program, the individual projects, and provides feedback to the Finance Manager.
- Prepares monthly financial reports for international sites for various stakeholders.
- Monitors open purchase orders and facilitates the closing process to ensure any remaining funds are returned to the program after the service or product has been received.
- Prepares and submits journal vouchers.
- Prepares periodic ad-hoc reports to facilitate decision-making by the program.
- Participates in annual budget developing process and review site budgets.
- Communicates effectively with all levels of staff within the organization including Site level Finance, Principal Investigators, program team, and HJF HQ staff.
- Builds positive relationship with a professional and customer-service oriented demeanor.
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the Finance Manager.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree required in a Business related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience required.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of spreadsheet software and financial systems.
- Knowledge of creating pivot table and reports within Excel.
- Ability to structure and perform sophisticated financial projections and analyses.
- Ability to manage time efficiently and handle multiple tasks.
- Ability to assimilate detailed information into the bigger picture.
- Sound business judgement to take appropriate actions.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with strong focus on customer service.
Work Environment
- This position will take place primarily in an office setting.
Compensation
- The annual salary range for this position is $64,200 - $90,000. Actual salary will be determined based on experience, education, etc.
