This position is located at Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, MARKETS. The incumbent will be responsible for conducting complex financial analyses and market assessments regarding consumer financial product and service markets in order to assist in the identification and evaluation of industry trends.
Responsibilities
The following are the duties of this position at the CN-51, broadly equivalent to the GS-11. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
- Analyze and draft analyses of financial and operational data for market participants. Collect, validate, and transform data from selected primary public and non-public information sources to develop insight into industry business models including both revenues and cost structures.
- Draft summaries and analyses of key findings from market and company data. Prepare quarterly business reviews, industry updates, and industry/market primers that provide information on relevant business models and practices including cost accounting methods, financial instruments used, and setting interest rates.
- Maintain selected databases of information pertaining to market participants and industry trends. Provide ad hoc querying support for specific requests made by senior staff members as directed.
