A Unique Opportunity in Richmond! Our client, a privately held, boutique financial services firm is seeking a financial analyst to work with established clients and government entities. You will work with a team of skilled finance professionals offering a niche service to Issuers of tax-exempt debt. We offer a detailed training program that will enhance your ability to succeed and build upon your solid accounting and/or business background.
The successful candidate will have some experience (1+yr) working in a business office environment and in a role using independent judgment, financial document review and strong math skills. A Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or a business field is required. Some knowledge of tax exempt bonds, financials, IRS regulations and compliance will enable you to evaluate, assess, calculate and review account reporting on a mandated schedule for our clients. Our best candidates are inclined toward disciplined analysis skills, problem solving and the ability to understand complex accounting transactions. Basic knowledge of federal securities and other investments (US Treasuries, Government Agencies, Certificates of Deposit, etc) will help during the training period.
Professionalism, excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, reliability and dependability are required. Must have the desire and the ability to work in a team environment. External resources engaged on a regular basis while working in this role will be bond attorneys, trust departments, banks and government officials. This is an entry level role at the company with the ability to advance while gaining new skills and expertise.
