Special Instructions for Applicants:Demonstrated skill in financial analysis, long range and short range budget planning, preparation and administration of a multi-million dollar budget with numerous funding sources. This includes the ability to appropriately correlate available fiscal resources with departmental programmatic needs. (Required) Demonstrated working knowledge of University's financial/accounting and other administrative policies and procedures with a high degree of accuracy. (Preferred) Working knowledge of UCLA financial and organizational structure and systems. Knowledge of UCLA Contracts and Grants policies and procedures. (Preferred) Demonstrated working knowledge of UCLA Purchasing and Accounts Payable system, Financial System (FS), Transfer of Funds (TOF), the Query Database (QDB). (Preferred) Knowledge of the payroll/personnel systems as they related to fund management. (Preferred) Demonstrated skill in preparing budgets and projections using spreadsheets and databases. Ability to design, execute, and maintain complex spreadsheets. (Required) Excellent analytical skills and ability to assess financial information, anticipate problems, make recommendations, develop solutions, and implement changes. Ability to work independently, accepting challenging circumstances and taking initiative to solve problems where solutions are not always readily apparent. (Required) Demonstrated experience with Campus Budgeting Information Gateway (CBIG) process and procedures. (Preferred) Excellent communication skills to obtain and convey information professionally with diplomacy and clarity. Ability to respond to and maintain a congenial, helpful attitude when faced with difficult situations and to respond with sensitivity and diplomacy. (Required) Demonstrated supervisory skills to direct people, delegate work and motivate staff. (Required) General knowledge of immigration regulations, tax treaties and tax withholding regulations. Department Summary:The History Department is one of the largest departments in the Division of Social Sciences. It houses the Public History Initiative, the Luskin Center for History and Policy, graduate and undergraduate programs, a staff of 14, and a robust academic roster including approximately 50 faculty, 10 lecturers, 9 post-docs and visitors.Position Summary:
The Senior Fund Manager (supervisor) serves as the lead Financial Officer under the general direction of the Chief Administrative Officer with independent responsibility for establishing and supervising all financial systems, operational policies and procedures, and administrative record- keeping for all department's business activities and the Luskin Center for History and Policy.
