About the Job
The Senior Controller will oversee all accounting and financial reporting activities within the organization. This position is fully on-site and requires a strong background in accounting with prior public accounting experience. The ideal candidate will have an accounting degree and be adept at managing financial systems, ensuring compliance, and leading a team of accounting professional
Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance
- Support month-end and year-end close process
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Reconcile the monthly bank and credit card statements
- Coordinate month-end and year-end closings
- Preparation and distribution of timely financial statements
- Supervise accounting employees, including workload and related duties
Required Skills
- Must have a minimum 6-8 years full-cycle accounting experience
- Prefer Candidates to have been in a Accounting Manager or prior Controller role
- Experienced with QuickBooks software is preferred.
- Must have an understanding of GAAP and tax rules
- Must have the ability to train and supervise accounting staff
- CPA is a Bonus
