Founded in 1915 and located in Trenton New Jersey we serve men and women who have no place else to turn for shelter, clothing, treatment and food. We provide a safe, clean, warm refuge for the homeless, the hungry, the transient and the addicted. Our dedicated staff in the Shelter and our Behavioral Health Unit offer care, support and encouragement to all that reside here.

We value dignity, communication and helping each of our clients reach their full potential.  Our clients are assisted by staff with treatment options, medical help, job placement, financial planning, education, counseling and mental health treatment.  This position is an important part of helping our clients navigate their financial needs to help them reach their potential.
Position Details
Client Financial Navigation
The Navigator works directly with clients facing various behavioral health challenges, offering guidance on budgeting, credit building, debt management, and financial goal setting. The ideal candidate is a compassionate, patient, and solutions-oriented professional with a passion to help others improve their financial well-being.

Working with the Vocational Development Coordinator and the Chief Behavioral Health Officer the ideal candidate provides program administration, financial education and coaching, assessment and planning, resource navigation and is a constant advocate for client’s financial wellbeing.

Qualifications:

• Preferred - B.A. in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Accounting, Finance, or other relevant field; or unrelated degree with relevant work experience also accepted
• Basic knowledge of management navigation/coaching versus counseling
• Basic knowledge of budgeting, credit, debt management, and savings
• Basic knowledge of the factors that support and hinder economic mobility 
• Excellent relationship-building/people skills 
• Strong computer skills
• Excellent client and team communication skills – has a sense of what needs to be communicated, to whom, how often, and in what way, for the client to be successful 
• Well-organized, able to prioritize among competing tasks, and able to work independently
• Fluent in English and Spanish preferred (both written and verbal)

 Schedule:  Monday - Friday 8a-4p
Hourly Rate:  $22.85 and a comprehensive benefit and training package
