The Budget Analyst will be responsible for developing budgets, monitoring, and reporting on the status of Information Technology and other projects for a Federal Government Client. To accomplish this, the Budget Analyst will gather data from financial and contract systems as well as consolidating invoice data. S/He will exercise excellent spreadsheet and presentation skills to assist in the analysis and communication of project financial status. The successful candidate will also demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills and analytical capabilities.
Additional responsibilities will include:
- Forecasting expenditures; estimates to complete; estimate at completion
- Conduct variance analysis and explain the root cause to management
- Build presentations to explain funding status and analysis
- Apply consulting and interpersonal skills to a wide range of business situations
- Interview clients, define budget requirements, develop cost estimates and research data issues
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or related fields with a minimum of three years of related experience. Other fields of specialty will be considered.
- Ability to build PowerPoint presentations to explain budget status and analysis information to multiple stakeholders.
- All candidates must have strong communication and writing skills, ability to solve problems independently, and responsible for meeting deadlines.
- Understanding of basic accounting principles
- Experience establishing, monitoring, forecasting and reporting project budgets
- Strong Microsoft Excel experience and capabilities required
- Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
- The position requires a professional work attitude, ability to communicate openly with management and coworkers, and to work as a team player.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust (US citizenship OR green card holder living in the US for at least 5 years)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working for a government agency or contractor is preferred
- Knowledge of the software development lifecycle and IT hardware desirable
- Knowledge and experience in procurement, consulting, and Information Technology preferred
- Knowledge of PowerBI preferred but not required

Salary at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and are based on full time status. Part time staff receive a prorated salary based on regularly scheduled hours. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements), and is just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package for employees.
