Monks Construction is seeking a skilled Finish Blade Operator to operate and maintain various types of earth-moving and general construction equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring safe and efficient operation of equipment, contributing to the success of construction projects, and working closely with the Foreman and Superintendent. This role involves a hands-on approach to operating scrapers, blades, and dozers, ensuring accuracy, safety, and productivity.

- Operator - Scraper (3-6 months experience required):
- Operate scrapers efficiently to load, haul, and dump materials.
- Understand and follow correct positions for loading and unloading, and prioritize right of way when loaded.
- Build and maintain proper grades and slopes, ensuring safe and productive operation.
- Maintain awareness of grade stakes and avoid running them over.
- Understand compaction, wheel rolling, and stockpile techniques.
- Perform daily pre- and post-trip equipment inspections, ensuring proper maintenance.
- Operator - Finish Blade (GPS Trimble, 1+ years of experience required):
- Accurately maintain grade and cut ditches and slopes in a timely manner.
- Finish grading projects efficiently while maintaining haul roads.
- Act as lead operator, providing direction to other team members as needed.
- Work closely with grade checkers to ensure precision and accuracy.
- Perform inspections and maintenance on motor graders before and after shifts.
- Knowledge of connecting/disconnecting GPS and laser equipment is preferred.
- Operator - Finish Dozer (GPS Trimble, 1+ years of experience required):
- Maintain grade and efficiently move material from cut to fill.
- Cut slopes and understand proper ripping techniques.
- Maintain dust control and operate the dozer safely and efficiently.
- Work with grade checkers and maintain awareness of grade stakes.
- Perform pre- and post-shift inspections on the dozer and manage routine maintenance.
- Push scrapers efficiently and safely, avoiding unnecessary jarring.
- Knowledge of GPS and laser equipment preferred.
- Minimum 3-6 months of experience operating scrapers.
- Minimum 1+ years of experience operating finish blades and dozers (GPS Trimble).
- Strong understanding of grade stakes, slope management, and building to specifications.
- Ability to work in rough terrain and under varying weather conditions.
- Knowledge of dust control techniques and safety protocols.
- Experience with equipment maintenance and daily inspections.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with grade checkers and team members.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Requires full body movement, including handling levers or controls, climbing, and manual dexterity.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Operate equipment in rough terrain and endure jarring and jolting during operation.
- Exposure to construction site conditions such as rain, sleet, snow, dust, mud, heat, and cold.
- May require irregular hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and out-of-town work.
