WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
We are looking for a high performing detail-oriented individual to work as a Fire Inspector/Investigator in our fast-growing Pearland Fire Department. The successful candidate will be a positive individual with an intuitive personality that is professionally adept to working in a multifaceted environment. You possess excellent oral and written communication skills, well organized, flexible and acts with independence and with sound judgement.
The ideal Fire Inspector/Investigator is driven by the need to ensure that every inspection and investigation is conducted thoroughly and with the highest integrity. You understand the big-picture impact of your decisions and is confident in your ability to explore and stay abreast of industry standards and trends related to fire inspections and investigations.
THE POSITION:
Under the general supervision of the Fire Marshal, the Fire Inspector/Investigator is responsible for inspections of new and existing facilities to ensure compliance with various applicable laws and ordinances, performs arson and fire investigations, report writing, performs plan reviews of facilities, participates in public relation events, educational activities related to fire prevention and performs related work as assigned. Basic -to intermediate computer skills.
Candidates must currently possess Basic Peace Officer, Basic Fire Inspector, Basic Fire Investigator. In addition, must have a strong understanding of the plans review process.
