Pay Range: $60 - $90/hr.
What is the preferred candidate location (local, non-local, remote?) and is there flexibility? Preference for local candidates but will review candidates who need per diem
" Per Diem: $100/day 700/week
Description:
" High Level Project Overview:
o Perform subcontractor FP System new install design reviews
o Facilitate Commonwealth of VA, Local county staff design document reviews
o Perform in-process walkdowns to ensure compliance with all Commonwealth/Louisa County Codes
o Support Commonwealth of VA/Louisa County inspector walkdowns
o Augment North Anna Fire Protection System Engineer work backlog: Monitoring installed FP System performance, support preventive and corrective maintenance activities, emergent FP system performance troubleshooting
" Required Years of Experience:
o 10 years of related experience.
o Experience as a fire protection engineer at a major commercial, industrial, or nuclear facility with a strong background in fire suppression and fire alarm system design.
" Education:
o Minimum of Bachelor in Science
o BS or MS degree in fire protection engineering from an accredited university or college
Top 3 Required Skills
1) Training and experience with relevant industry, state, and local fire code requirements
2) Fire Protection System Design experience
3) Experience completing reviews independently
" What soft skill requirements do you have (team fit and personality requirements)?
o Strong communication skills both verbal and written
o Ability to lead, collaborate, or work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams
" Nice to Have Skills:
o Preference for candidates with nuclear design quals but will consider candidates with relevant fire protection system design experience and/or previous design qualifications and be willing to assist establishing a current design development qualification (certification)
o Previous experience with Simplex FP systems is a plus
o Fire protection system troubleshooting experience a plus
o Possess or meet the eligibility requirements for Grade of Professional Member of Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE).
