JOB SUMMARY:
1901 designs, builds, installs, and services Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection (MEPF) systems for commercial, industrial, and institutional applications. We utilize every possible technology and innovation to maximize value and reduce costs including the latest computer estimating, job costing, scheduling, modeling, and drafting systems.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are seeking an experienced Fire Protection Project Manager. The main responsibilities encompass all stages of a project: plan, coordinate, execute, and maintain an effective job site and project utilizing the necessary engineering, labor, equipment, materials, tools, subcontracted services, and other company resources to effectively perform the scope of contracted work within an allotted budget and time schedule.
- Estimate and bid on fire sprinkler projects.
- Develop and track a project schedule, including trade manpower loading for the projects
- Perform job cost tracking and forecasting to help determine final project costs
- Coordinate with internal staff to develop submittals, shop drawings, BIM models, and field coordination drawings
- Procurement of necessary equipment and materials
- Attend and participate in job meetings as required for each project
- Inspect the job site regularly for contract compliance, workmanship, and safety
- Estimate changes in the scope of work
- Procure and manage project subcontractors and equipment vendors
- Follow up on any required warranty work and maintain contact with the business owner to ensure customer satisfaction
- Maintain professional rapport with architects, engineers, general contractors, building owners, installers and suppliers
- Management of Projects from $25,000 to $5M.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Solid understanding of the construction process in its entirety
- Knowledge of fire protection systems and code requirements.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in project management of fire sprinkle projects in a commercial contractor setting as well as owner-direct projects.
- Experience in fire sprinkler design using HydraCad, BIM and Navisworks is preferred but not required.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS:
- Must possess exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, Navisworks, Accubid, and Microsoft Project
