Job Title: Fire Sprinkler Designer (NICET Level 3)
Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced Fire Sprinkler Designer with a NICET Level 3 certification to join our team. In this role, you will design, estimate, and manage fire sprinkler system projects from start to finish. Your expertise in fire protection standards and codes, combined with strong technical and project management skills, will ensure successful delivery of high-quality systems across commercial, industrial, and residential projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Fire Sprinkler System Design:
- Create detailed fire sprinkler system designs following NFPA standards and local codes.
- Prepare and review design drawings, hydraulic calculations, and project specifications.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure designs meet project requirements.
Stock Listing:
- Generate accurate material lists for fire sprinkler installations.
- Verify materials comply with project needs and industry standards.
- Work with procurement teams to ensure timely material delivery.
Estimating:
- Develop comprehensive cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment.
- Analyze project specs and drawings for potential cost-saving opportunities and risks.
- Support the sales team with competitive bids and proposals.
Project Management:
- Oversee fire sprinkler system projects from design through installation and final inspection.
- Coordinate with installation teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Maintain clear communication with clients and contractors, providing regular project updates.
- Perform site visits to monitor installation progress and address any issues.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all designs and installations comply with NFPA standards, building codes, and company quality policies.
- Review completed projects for compliance and potential improvement areas.
Qualifications:
- NICET Level 3 certification in Fire Protection Engineering Technology – Water-Based Systems Layout.
- 3-5 years of experience in fire sprinkler design, stock listing, estimating, and project management.
- Proficiency with design and hydraulic calculation software (e.g., AutoCAD, HydraCAD, SprinkCAD).
- Strong knowledge of NFPA 13 and other relevant fire protection codes.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to conduct site visits and oversee installation when necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with designing fire sprinkler systems for diverse building types (commercial, industrial, residential).
- Familiarity with other fire protection systems (e.g., fire alarms, special hazard systems) is a plus.
- PMP certification or relevant project management training.
