SUMMARY The FAM Manager is responsible for the efficient, profitable and safe operation of the First American Mart.This includes engaging in selling specific, related, or general lines of merchandise by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Regular and consistent attendance
Ensure that each Guest receives outstanding Guest Service by providing a Guest friendly environment.
Formulates pricing policies on merchandise according to requirements for profitability of store operations, this includes all price change requests, mark downs/ups
Determines work procedures and expedites workflow.
Assigns schedules duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
Administers progressive discipline and 90 day and annual reviews.
Supervises employees engaged in sales work, taking inventories, reconciling cash with sales receipts, keeping operating records, and schedule subordinates as needed.
Orders merchandise or prepare requisitions to replenish merchandise on hand.
Ensures compliance of employees with established security, sales, and record keeping
procedures, food service and administrative practices.
Hire and train, positive individuals, ensuring excellent guest service.
Promote and resolve customer complaints, in a timely and professional manner.
Implement and enforce established daily operating procedures to ensure store is clean, adequately stocked, organized and well kept.
Ensure all merchandise is stocked and displays are eye-catching, priced correctly and displayed in a safe manner.
Monitor cash over/short, inventory shrinkage, and drive offs daily.
Follow and enforce all Policies and Procedures in the store operations.
Implement monthly promotions; insure all advertising/signage is properly posted at the proper time.
Enforce all Safety and Security issues and report any and all unsafe conditions.
Train employees on the State of South Dakota approved Alcohol and Tobacco Sales program.
All duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be able to get certified in Serve Safe, SSCS, and Class A, B, and C Underground Storage certification.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Must have an Associate Degree or 2-3 years’ experience in purchasing, accounting, sale’s knowledge.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding of carrying out instructions furnished in oral, written or diagram form. The ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

FSST ID Badge and valid driver’s license

The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to second hand smoke. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
