Intertek, a leading provider of ATIC (Assurance, Testing, Inspection, and Certification) Services, is looking for FIT Engineer to join our Connected World.
The Connected World team focuses on cyber security, software testing, and assurance services for network-enabled devices, such as computers, tablets, mobile devices, apps, software, and wireless and connected products. The team provides services to help bring cutting-edge technology to market quickly with assurance of safety/security, quality, and performance.
What you'll do:
This position is for field testing in Southern California.
- Execute test plans such as DFIT, FIT, and GCF field trials to evaluate devices with VoLTE, E911, LTE, CDMA, GSM, GPRS, UMTS and 5G-NR technologies
- Responsible for the verification, certification and validation of various cellular-connected devices, including mobile phones and IoT products
- Mobile or stationary testing in designated areas on live cellular networks (3G, 4G, 5G) for various operator and industry standards
- Use of data logging and diagnostic tools such as QXDM, QCAT, etc., and analyzing those logs files for call performance and failures
- Prepare detailed reports based on the test results in various formats (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Perform regression and debug tests as needed
- Identify, articulate, and debug issues during testing
- Interface with internal or external customers regarding test requirements and test reporting
- Interact with customers' engineering and design teams
- Work closely with project managers, engineering, operations, and sales to ensure seamless service delivery
What it takes to be successful in this role:
- Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering, physics, or other related engineering field
- 3+ years engineering and field testing experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Self-motivated and ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
- Prior project management experience a plus
- Ability to make technical decisions and engineering judgments independently within established parameters
- Advanced level skills with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to travel overnight occasionally
