We offer full-service training and coaching options as well as fitness assessments like the BOD POD®, NIFS3D scanner, and VO2 testing.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Fitness Center Assistant Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fitness and wellness, strong leadership skills, and the ability to create a welcoming and positive environment for our members. The Assistant Manager will support the Fitness Center Manager in daily operations, staff supervision, member engagement, and program planning, ensuring a high standard of service and the achievement of facility goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the overall management of the fitness center, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all members and patrons.
- Supervise, train, and mentor fitness center staff, including personal trainers and fitness instructors, to maintain excellent customer service and operational standards.
- Support the Fitness Center Manager in developing and implementing programs and services that meet member needs and promote member retention and satisfaction.
- Monitor daily operations, including staff schedules, group fitness classes and equipment maintenance.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing member inquiries, concerns, and feedback in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist in marketing initiatives to promote the fitness center, including social media campaigns, events, and promotions.
- Contribute to budgeting and financial tracking; assist in achieving membership and revenue targets.
- Maintain knowledge of fitness trends and industry standards; ensure compliance with safety regulations and facility policies.
- Organize and lead group fitness classes or training sessions when needed.
- Foster a strong community atmosphere among members through engaging activities and events.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in exercise science, kinesiology, athletic training or health-related field from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a fitness center or health club setting, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist preferred.
- ACSM, NSCA or NASM certifications required.
- Current CPR/AED certification; additional fitness certifications (e.g., personal training, group fitness, etc.) preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in managing teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with fitness management software.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
