POSITION: EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN
The Equipment Technician plays a crucial role in overseeing the functionality of company equipment and machinery. This includes conducting thorough inspections to identify and promptly address any malfunctions, ensuring that defective components are repaired promptly to minimize disruptions to productivity. Additionally, equipment technicians are responsible for generating reports detailing system failures, utilizing documentation to maintain consistency with the equipment, and proposing corrective measures.
Job Focus:
- Troubleshoot and repair small and medium equipment, ensuring proper operation after repairs are completed.
- Conduct visual safety inspections on returning equipment and promptly report issues or damages.
- Complete Work Orders for serviced and/or repaired equipment.
- Order all parts timely through Work Orders for necessary equipment repairs and maintenance.
- Tag and mark 'out of service' equipment, including all necessary information on the tag.
- Test parameter samples in liner equipment during repairs, as applicable.
- Re-stencil numbers on small equipment for easy identification.
- Repair and maintain the interior of job trailers, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Perform preventative maintenance on the equipment located in job trailers, including bone cutters, compressors, Tensiometers, etc.
- Assist in loading and unloading equipment in job trailers upon request.
- Continuously seek improvements in shop efficiencies during equipment repairs.
- Cross-train new employees for optimal success in the Fleet Department.
- Travel to job sites for troubleshooting, equipment repair, and site inspections, following safety requirements.
- Wear proper PPE and enforce safety compliance while working on equipment and at job sites.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections for COMANCO vehicles.
- Collaborate with Fleet and Operations on the research and development of COMANCO-designed equipment, suggesting innovative ideas.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and contribute to daily shop cleanliness.
- Report any misuse or abuse of company assets to management.
- Monitor and respond to emails and phone calls as necessary.
- Report Safety Observations using the HCSS QR Code.
