We are seeking a Fleet Manager to oversee the quality, maintenance, and overall management of our fleet. The ideal candidate will have experience managing fleet operations, be detail-oriented, and possess excellent organizational and leadership skills.

We are seeking a Fleet Manager to oversee the quality, maintenance, and overall management of our fleet. The ideal candidate will have experience managing fleet operations, be detail-oriented, and possess excellent organizational and leadership skills.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Oversee fleet quality, appearance, and performance.
- Directly or indirectly manage mechanics, including hiring, performance reviews, and terminations.
- Maintain and update the fleet asset management system.
- Handle vehicle licensing, registration, and renewals.
- Approve and oversee maintenance activities.
- Lead the fleet inspection program, ensuring daily equipment inspections.
- Ensure timely maintenance of all vehicles.
- Manage procurement, tracking, and delivery of fleet assets.
- Procure maintenance-related supplies and develop vendor relationships.
- Ensure equipment specifications are standardized across the fleet.
- Leverage company buying power for new and used vehicle procurement.
- Make purchasing decisions based on vehicle age, condition, and maintenance costs.
- Retire vehicles as necessary and handle fleet branding, including consistent colors and signage.
- Assist with due diligence efforts for new acquisitions by overseeing equipment conditions and maintenance programs.
- Lead integration of new acquisitions into the asset system and manage inventory and equipment dissemination.
- Track fleet utilization and monitor equipment transfers.
- Manage maintenance P&L, ensuring budget adherence.
- Provide recommendations for outsourcing and hiring.
- Ensure maintenance shops meet cleanliness and safety standards.
- Develop key performance indicators for fleet operations, including customer satisfaction and equipment downtime.
- Lead the capital budget process for items such as pumps, generators, and compressors.
- Review equipment rentals and subcontracting expenditures, making recommendations.
- Maintain relationships with national rental firms.
- Investigate accidents and equipment damage, reporting findings and recommendations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in a Fleet Manager or related role.
- Extensive knowledge of Federal, State, and Provincial transportation and waste regulations.
- Strong communication, writing, and presentation skills.
- Excellent organizational and employee management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Proven ability to take concepts and bring them to full implementation.
- Experience mentoring and developing staff to build a cohesive, results-driven department.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
