Job Summary and Qualifications
- Monitor, assist and direct staff to perform their duties efficiently and without unproductive delays
- Assist with education and team structure of both licensed and non-licensed staff.
- Use therapeutic communication in daily practice
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic Patient Care environment.
- Assess and maintain competency of staff as related to job descriptions.
- Implement and revise policies and procedures.
- Promote a supportive environment that encourages teamwork.
- Assist with the completion of staff evaluations (60+ FTEs).
- Demonstrate leadership and vision to obtain or exceed department goals.
- Maintain high quality age specific care for adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, as assigned
- Accountable for monthly staffing schedules and payroll.
- Reports observations, and patient needs to the registered nurse.
- Performs technical skills as outlined during educational training and nursing unit requirements and assists patient with activities of daily living per employee’s competency level
What qualifications you will need:
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
- If hired after 6/1/12, BSN required within 24 months of hire into RN position.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in adult Critical Care in an acute care hospital within the last three years, preferred.
- Experience with high acuity Adult Critical Care patients is preferred.
- Current RN license in the State of Texas or compact license.
- Current AHA or ARC BLS provider
- AHA or ARC ACLS required within 6 months of hire or transfer
- CCRN or CMSRN, preferred
- AHA or ARC PALS required within 90 days of hire or no later than January 1st, 2024 for current employees.
