About the Job
The Admiral Hotel, located in the heart of Mobile, is seeking to hire a dedicated and reliable Floor Technician to join our housekeeping team! This position would be primarily working overnight shifts with a schedule of 11pm to 7am.

Position Summary:
Responsible for maintaining all floor areas and ensuring high standards of cleanliness. Duties include spot cleaning carpets, performing bonnet and extraction carpet cleaning, disposing of trash, and assisting guests. Operate floor sweepers, buffers, strippers, canister vacuum cleaners, and shop vacuums while wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) when working with chemicals and equipment. Successful candidates will prioritize safety and demonstrate motivation and meticulous attention to detail.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform floor care for hard surfaces and carpets throughout the hotel

Maintain cleanliness in both front and back of house areas including restrooms
-
Move furniture as needed for cleaning
-
Provide assistance to guests and fellow team members and respond to their inquiries in a hospitable and respectful manner.

Use hotel communication tools, such as the HelloShift application, to stay informed and coordinate tasks efficiently
-
Adhere to safety procedures and promote a culture of safety
-
Clean and perform routine maintenance on floor care equipment to ensure it is in proper working order
-
Operate all equipment according to manufacturer's safety standards and procedures
-
Schedule floor maintenance to ensure the most efficient use of time and materials
-
Collaborate with other staff to ensure overall facility cleanliness and upkeep
-
Perform other duties as directed by the leadership team

Job Requirements:

Knowledge of power equipment, high-speed floor machines, carpet cleaning equipment, wet/dry vacuums, and push sweepers.

Proficiency with computers and mobile devices

Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Maintain a neat appearance with a clean, pressed uniform and name tag

Ability to work weekends and holidays
Education:
-
High school diploma or GED preferred
Experience:
-
1 year of environmental services experience preferred
-
Previous floor care maintenance experience preferred
Skills:

Knowledge of hotel property and guest service areas

Work Environment:

Primarily works indoors in various areas of the facility, including guest rooms, hallways, lobbies, kitchens, restrooms, and back-of-house areas

Regular interaction with hotel guests, requiring professionalism and a hospitable demeanor

Exposure to cleaning chemicals
-
May work in environments with varying noise levels from equipment and guest interactions
-
May experience temperature fluctuations depending on the area being cleaned (e.g., kitchens, lobbies)
-
Works closely with other maintenance staff, housekeeping, and hotel management to ensure cleanliness and safety
-
May be required to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to meet the operational needs of the hotel.
