JOB SUMMARY FOR FLOOR TECHNICIAN:
We are currently seeking applicants for the Floor Technician position. The Floor Technician will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining the facility's flooring and performing maintenance tasks as directed by the Director of Maintenance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS FOR FLOOR TECHNICIAN:
- Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization
- Perform all assigned tasks in a professional manner to reflect the highest integrity of the Environmental Services Department.
- Perform cleaning and maintenance of all floors: tile, carpet, vinyl, etc.
- Complete work assignments promptly.
- Utilize the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.
- Use and maintain equipment properly.
- Operate and maintain all equipment correctly and safely
- Always observe safety precautions and use signs such as “wet floor.”
- Ability to work without regular supervision
- Reports safety hazards as appropriate
QUALIFICATIONS FOR FLOOR TECHNICIAN:
- High school education or equivalent preferred.
- Must be able to read, write, and understandably speak English.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must be able to deal tactfully with residents, family members, visitors, personnel, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
- Must possess ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
- Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the work day.
- Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
- Must function independently, have flexibility, personal Integrity, and the ability to work effectively with the residents, family members, visitors, personnel, and support agencies.
- Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, young, emotionally upset, and, at times, hostile people.
- Must lift, push, pull, and move equipment, supplies, etc., over fifty (50) pounds throughout the day.
