- High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Completed FPI Level II certification (NAS 410, EN 4179 or other recognized NDT qualification program) and must be able to pass the Level III testing requirements.
- Adequate computer skills (Email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Interested candidates must meet one of these criteria as a minimum experience requirement:
- 4 years of Level 2 experience in FPI.
- Two years of engineering or science study at a technical school, college, or university plus two years of experience as a Level 2 in FPI.
- Three-to-four-year science of engineering undergraduate degree plus one year of Level 2 experience.
- This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.
Preferred Qualifications:
- FPI Level III certification under NAS 410, EN 4179 or other recognized NDT qualification program
Skills & Abilities:
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of computer systems (DOS/windows, spreadsheets, and word processing), X-ray equipment.
- Ability to prepare and conduct certified operator-training programs in accordance with approved procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, operating procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

This position has responsibility for directing and controlling the quality and technical functions for NDT inspection compliance to internal and customer specifications. This involves overseeing inspections, training personnel, assist with performing audits, reviewing scrap, maintaining documentation, and acting as primary focal point for internal and external communication.
Job Responsibilities:
Job responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Establish and maintain training and certification programs for FPI processors and inspectors that comply with all customer requirements.
- Processes various inspections per established customer-specified procedures and/or writes inspection procedures to meet customer requirements.
- Inspect castings to customer specifications as required.
- Controls inspections through specification-required tests and procedures. Maintains associated documentation.
- Develop, train, and provide technical support to, and audit inspectors and other FPI Level I and II inspectors to assure consistent quality and specification compliance.
- Manages departmental materials and equipment to meet production requirements.
- Write, approve, and maintain procedures and operation instructions.
- Prepare for and assist in internal, external, and customer audits as applicable.
- Review and interpret all incoming customer specifications, blueprints, codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control the process.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining procedures and processes to ensure adherence to industry and customer requirements.
- Review for accuracy product criteria and activity instructions associated with Inspecting and NDT Testing.
- Ensure NDT processes for product criteria are met.
- Ensure NDT inspections for product criteria are met.
- Audit and exercise responsibility for making decisions concerning continued processing or work stoppages of product through the NDT operations to ensure NDT processes are held within customer requirements.
- Perform required calibrations and system checks of the responsible department.
- Monitor and ensure all NDT equipment is properly maintained and calibrated at all times. Assist as necessary in the execution of maintenance tasks on NDT equipment.
- Monitor equipment availability and maintain equipment, fixtures, and tools as necessary.
- Maintain required documentation and records for specific methods as required.
- Help in projects to improve the work area.
- Interact with corporate NDT Level III as necessary to ensure overall focus is maintained.
- Ability to use proper and safe containerization methods for all hazardous waste.
- Adhere to all company safety rules and practices and wears protective equipment as
- directed.
- Keep work area clean according to 6's standards.
- Perform other job duties as needed or directed by management.
