SUMMARY: As an instructor, conduct F-16 maintenance training to foreign military students (FMS), including academic and hands-on training, and document student training. Assist the Maintenance Training Manager in developing, scheduling, and coordinating training requirements for foreign military student personnel in F-16 aviation maintenance. Must be able to work dayshift, evenings, or weekends, as required, to maintain student schedule. Must have at least a 7-level certification in one of the following USAF Technical Specialties: Crew Chief, Structures, Avionics, Electrical & Environmental, Fuels, and/or Engines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct formal classroom academic instruction to foreign national military students.
- Develop formal classroom courseware to ISD standards to ensure that program training objectives, standards, and procedures are understood.
- Ensure technical data is followed on all hands-on evaluations.
- Trains, monitors and evaluates F-16 maintenance students on maintenance actions performed, inspection of aircraft and equipment condition for safety, compliance with technical directives, and maintenance directives.
- Provides on-the-spot, one-on-one instruction, as necessary.
- Ensure all company workplace and aviation maintenance safety practices are followed and complied with by students.
- Provide feedback as necessary to the Maintenance Training Manager and TAC Leadership Team on the effectiveness of training. Assist management with oversight and monitoring of student performance.
- Work in compliance with all applicable Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) acts and regulations, including following safe work practices and procedures and using safeguards and personal protective equipment as necessary, and when required.
- Responsible to ensure that the implemented processes are actually delivering the intended outcomes as outlined in the training manual.
- Responsible to follow up on corrective actions, as required.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures, and USAF Technical Orders.
- Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.
SKILLS AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS
- F-16 Aviation experience required.
- Maintenance Instructor experience required.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Adaptability to listen, analyze, and convey information in an easy-to-understand manner.
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
- International and domestic U.S. travel may be required.
- Ability to perform all work in support of our Corporate Values of Safety, Teamwork, Focus, Innovation, and Integrity.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
- Experience working with international customers with limited English proficiencies a plus.
- Excellent computer proficiency (MS Software - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- FAA A&P Certificate preferred.
- FAA Inspection Authorization Certificate preferred.
- "T" coded maintenance instructors preferred.
EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE
- 3-5 years of experience in maintenance instruction preferred.
- F-16 7-Level experience in one of the following USAF specialties: Crew Chief, Structures, Avionics, Electrical & Environmental, Fuels, and Engines.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly in the English language.
SPECIAL WORK CONDITIONS
