Position Overview:QinetiQ is hiring for a Systems Engineer to support the full lifecycle of a major weapons system development, test, integration, and sustainment program being exported to a Department of Defense (DoD) partner NATO country. Candidates should possess strong systems engineering skills with mechanical and software expertise to support the comprehensive development and operational phases of the weapons platform.
Responsibilities:- Support systems engineering activities from requirements definition and design through integration, testing, and sustainment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers, to ensure seamless development and integration of system components.
- Apply modern Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies and tools to design, analyze, and document system architectures and interfaces.
- Perform system verification and validation activities, including testing and integration, ensuring systems meet program requirements and operational needs.
- Participate in technical reviews, design meetings, and risk assessments to guide system development.
- Ensure compliance with DoD export control regulations and country-specific security requirements throughout the development process.
- Provide support for system upgrades, troubleshooting, and sustainment activities as required.
- Interface with internal, DOD, and international customers to ensure their needs are met through the program’s lifecycle.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in systems engineering, with a strong understanding of mechanical systems and software development.
- Experience in systems integration and testing, with knowledge of weapons systems or defense platforms preferred.
- Proficiency in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and processes (e.g. Cameo, MagicDraw, Rhapsody).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Excellent communication and technical documentation skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
- Experience with military or defense-related systems engineering programs.
- Familiarity with export control regulations (e.g., ITAR) and international military sales processes.
- Knowledge of systems sustainment and life-cycle management processes.
