As FOH Manager, you will be directly responsible for overseeing the daily restaurant operations. Responsibilities include hiring and training staff, coordinating employee schedules, learning payroll, ordering supplies, managing budgets, resolving customer complaints, and ensuring all SOPs and safety protocols are being followed.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Follow directions from the General Manager on all aspects of Operations to provide direct oversight of day-to-day operations, organize and supervise, including executing companywide shared standards, dining room management, and striving for a genuine guest experience and guest satisfaction.
Displays role modeling through visible actions for all staff including being active in all areas of the restaurant (front desk, bar/lounge, kitchen, and main dining room) for the whole dining period.
Initiate improvements and build relationships with guests resolving guest complaints or dissatisfaction in a friendly and timely manner.
Proactively monitor the floor, touch tables, and maintain guest satisfaction by monitoring, evaluating, and auditing food, beverage, and service offering.
Complete opening, mid-shift, or closing procedures ensuring all staff checks in and out, and provide a brief overview of the shift operations in the manager log, including any relevant staffing notes.
Responsible for timely submissions of petty cash reconciliations, cash tips, payroll errors, missing invoices, expense reimbursements, timecard change forms, new hire packets, and all other administrative work that needs to be completed thoroughly and accurately.
Supervise department staff and ensure all department staff is trained properly and meet service standards, grooming standards, liquor controls, food, and drink knowledge, and assist staff to execute service standards during peak hours. Praise staff performance and provide continuous feedback to improve productivity and performance.
Assist with the execution of the beverage program (Liquor, Wine, and Beer) by promoting bar sales and informing the bar manager of any insufficient stock of bar inventory levels. Assist in maintaining an exceptional tequila cart display with updated menus and pricing and actively motivate staff to upsell.
Create and develop incentive programs to reinvigorate staff and promote sales. Deliver employee appreciation immediately to reinforce a positive and friendly working environment.
Attends and is actively engaged in weekly all managers’ meetings with the executive team.
Responsible for ensuring the department is staffed accordingly, including posting schedules in a timely manner and recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training new hires approved by General Manager and Human Resources.
Follow through on all COVID-19 reporting and compliance. React quickly to any potential threats of exposure and regularly enforce extreme safety protocols in partnership with Human Resources.
Review and comprehend budgets, operating statements, and cost savings initiatives as needed to assist in the financial management of the department. Maintain labor under control by scheduling according to forecast and adjusting as needed throughout the shift.
Using consistent and clear corrective action procedures, manage, counsel, and coach employees through workplace conflict and resolve employee complaints, concerns, and/or problems as they arise.
