Job Summary:
The Folder-Gluer Machine Operator will be responsible for the daily operations of our folder/gluer machine that creates finished packaging.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for set up, make-ready, operate, and monitor the folder/gluer equipment during the running process to meet customer specifications.
- Make Adjustments to account for different fold and glue patterns based on job specifications.
- Perform all quality checks to ensure proper gluing, and folding, and minimize waste and rework.
- Perform preventative and mechanical maintenance, adjustments, repairs, and cleaning as needed.
- Observe and monitor machine operations while running to detect and identify defects to determine if adjustments are necessary.
- Maintain safety, quality, maintenance and good manufacturing practices.
Qualifications:
- Experience in Bindery or printing (Bobst Series) highly desirable.
- Detail-Oriented.
- Possesses mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
- General knowledge and understanding of die cutting process and equipment.
- Math, analytical and abstract thinking.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret internal and external communications to perform job duties.
- Ability to use measuring tools and hand tools.
- Proficient knowledge of production materials, quality methods, and color standards are necessary.
- Good verbal and written comprehension to understand job orders and follow detailed instructions.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus, and distinguish between different colors.
- Finger and hand dexterity.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace.
- Ability to work quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Required to use a pallet jack.
Education and Experience:
- High School Graduate or equivalent.
- Press or Finishing experience.
- 3-5 years' experience operating a folder/gluer machine.
Physical Requirements: Standing-80%, Walking-20%, Lifting, Carrying, Pushing, Pulling 50lbs.
Job Type: Full Time
Shift Available & Schedule: 2nd shift (4:00pm-12:00am), 3rd shift (12:00am-8:00am)
