Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Folder/Gluer Machine Operator with a background in folding cartons within the food packaging industry in Peachtree City, GA. The ideal candidate will operate, troubleshoot, and monitor the gluer machine to develop high-quality printed packaging material in accordance with customer specifications.
Responsibilities:
Machine Operation:
- Operate and adjust the gluer machine, ensuring efficient and precise control of feeding, batch inverting, and automatic loading.
- Monitor the operation of the machine, make necessary adjustments, clear jams, and maintain speed and quality throughout the process.
Preparation and Setup:
- Perform a variety of make-ready tasks to ensure high productivity and precision operations.
- Prepare the gluer by controlling feeding, maintaining steady and precise feeding at all speeds, and making adjustments as needed.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of jobs completed by reviewing finished products.
- Make sure jobs are complete and error-free, exceeding customer expectations.
- Complete and support all ISO standards and quality objectives.
Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment (OHSE):
- Adhere to OHSE policies, maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Follow all safety procedures, including the use of PPE and proper handling of hazardous materials.
- Maintain proper storage and cleanliness of the work area.
Communication:
- Interact with the team and co-workers professionally and courteously, promoting respect and cooperation.
- Communicate accurate information to team members and accept feedback from leadership.
Leadership:
- Create a high-performance environment through positive leadership and team orientation.
- Regularly communicate with the team, provide specific feedback, and initiate corrective action when necessary.
- Motivate and train the crew to improve the quality and quantity of work performed.
- Conduct team meetings and use established channels of communication.
Other Responsibilities:
- Perform any additional tasks as required or requested by Department Leads, Shift Leads, or Management.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma (or GED).
- Minimum of 3 years of Folder/Gluer equipment operation experience within the food packaging industry.
Skills:
- Interpersonal and communication skills.
- Basic computer skills and mathematical skills necessary to compute percentages, weights, and measures.
Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods of standing, stooping, bending, reaching, balancing, climbing, kneeling, crouching, and hearing.
- Frequent lifting of over 30 lbs.
- Ability to hold, touch, feel, and manipulate products and equipment safely.
- Manual dexterity and good eye-hand coordination.
- Use of close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to rotate shifts and work in excess of 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week when necessary.
