The Food and Beverage LID program is designed to expose recent college graduates to various aspects of the hospitality industry. This position assists in ensuring proper training and supervision of all personnel and deliver prompt, courteous service in a manner that complies with Omni Food and Beverage standards and company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for assigned shift, assisting in overall management.
- Assist in overall supervision of the department as outlined in manager’s job description.
- Complete environmental checklist for dining room.
- Spot check liquor pars and order daily supplies.
- Hold pre-meal meetings.
- Follow up on established training steps.
- Handle guest comments and complaints and ensure guest satisfaction.
- Communicate with guests and receive feedback.
- Stay on the floor during peak hours.
- Observe, teach and correct staff’s service.
- Examine food preparation and beverage presentation.
- Maintain condition of dining room, lobby lounge, morsels, mini bar and room service.
- Assist manager in: scheduling, completing weekly payroll, and forecasting both weekly and monthly.
- Participate in interviewing new employees as needed.
- Prepare maintenance request and follow-up.
- Monitor food and liquor requisitions and food waste.
- Check bar controls, shot glass use, red lining, and bottles totally empty daily.
- Represent the Omni Brand and Culture at all times; meeting the expectations outlined in the Omni leadership competencies. Reinforce and train associates on Power of One and Power of Engagement principles.
- Be actively engaged with our guests and hotel associates, demonstrating and rewarding Power of One behaviors.
- Support a positive work environment of employee growth and development, interdepartmental teamwork and exceptional customer service.
- Completion of LID learning contracts; scheduling appointments with contract resources and completing monthly LID progress report.
- Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions; complete safety training and certifications.
- Follow all company policies and procedures; ensure clean uniform and professional personal appearance; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.
- Be pleasant, smile and greet all guests, using surnames when obtained.
- Deliver personalized, memorable guest experiences by utilizing the Power of One.
- Perform other duties | special projects as assigned by Food & Beverage management.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Hospitality Management.
- 1 year of experience in Food & Beverage supervision role preferred.
- Previous hotel experience, preferably in a role that required leadership.
- Candidates must be available to relocate after completion of the program.
- Must be willing to work 47.5 hours per week.
- Must maintain active TABC certification.
- 1 year of experience in Food & Beverage supervision role preferred.
- Self motivated with ability to manage deadlines.
- Must have a strong attention to detail as well as strong customer service skills.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends nights and holidays.
- Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods of time.
- Requires ability for frequent lifting up to 40 lbs. and pushing and pulling up to 60 lbs.
- Ability to carry tray overhead and frequently bend and squat.
- Requires repetitive motion, including utilizing telephone/computer for an extended period or for an entire shift.
- May work both indoors and outdoors.
