JOB SUMMARY: The Food Equipment Service Technician is responsible for the support of retail operations through maintenance, installation, and repair of equipment utilized in food processing, preparation, and merchandising.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for maintenance of the food equipment systems and become a proactive partner of the retail stores in assigned locations.
- Conduct periodic service checks and perform preventive maintenance on food equipment systems to prevent critical failures.
- Diagnose and maintain all mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and control aspects of the food equipment systems.
- Install new and remove old equipment as needed for remodel and upgrades.
- Conceive and help develop procedures and strategies that can be adopted companywide for improved performance, reduced downtime, and cost reduction.
- Maintain all records necessary for government and company purposes.
- Responsible for attending on-site work during scheduled shifts to adhere to company time and attendance policies.
- Ensure efficient and courteous customer service to store locations in support of the company's mission to "Run the Best Store in Town!"
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in food equipment systems maintenance
- Experience with single refrigeration compressor systems (retarders, display cases, blast chillers, etc.), required
- Experience with Hobart brand food equipment, preferred.
- Valid Type 1 EPA refrigerant certification, preferred.
- Must possess valid and unrestricted driver's license, required.
- Proficiency with computer applications and programs including Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment with competing demands.
- Possesses strong interpersonal, organizational, decision making, and leadership skills.
- Able to read and communicate effectively with others and build relationships.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions, perform routine and repetitive tasks, and have constant contact/interaction with various levels of individuals daily
- Ability to attend on-site work as assigned, in the typical work week, as well as additional time as needed to fulfill job duties through regular attendance
