Job Summary and Qualifications
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under direction, trains, monitors, assists and directs activities of Cafeteria personnel. Responsible to see that department standards of sanitation, food quality and customer service are maintained. Evaluates performance of workers in the areas and exercises corrective procedures as necessary. Participates in organizing work, developing task lists, and establishing procedures and QI activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assists in Cafeteria activities.
- Responsible for maintaining quality of food and customer service.
- Enforces compliance to safety and sanitation policies.
- Assist in continuous Quality Improvement, Quality Control and HACCP monitoring and evaluation.
- Other duties as assigned.
What qualifications you will need:
EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED: (list required and preferred separately)
REQUIRED
- High School degree or equivalent. Prefer individual with training in restaurant/institutional food management.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: (list required and preferred separately)
REQUIRED
- Current Food Handlers Card or Food Manager’s card or SevSafe Certification.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED: (list required and preferred separately)
- 1 year of Supervisory experience required.
PREFERRED
- Previous experience in use of food preparation and sanitation principles and procedures.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
PREFERRED
- Basic knowledge of food service, sanitation, equipment, cashiering, customer service and familiarity with computers required.
- Able to work and prioritize multiple projects.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, in a verbal and written manner necessary to supervise employees, conduct area meetings, work with production sheets, menus.
- Flexibility in being able to adjust and train to changing needs.
- Able to use judgement to determine appropriate action when confronted with unique situations and problems.
