Position Description: A Busser and/or Food Runner, is in charge of clearing tables at a dining establishment to provide a clean and tidy environment for restaurant patrons. Their duties include removing used dishes, and dropping off new dishes. Clearing tables after guests leave, making sure table is cleaned, wiped and sanitized before seating new guests. Running food to correct tables as food comes out from kitchen. Communicating with both servers and kitchen staff, efficiently and respectfully. Food Runner/Busser will also assist with expediting food and monitoring food tickets as they come in. They will be the main point-of-contact between the Expo & Chef and the Servers. One of the primary duties will be to assist with the expo of food to make sure all dishes get served to the correct tables in a timely manner.
Performance Expectations:
- Welcome guests and assist guests with a friendly smile while adhering to our guest guidelines.
- Exceptional hosting of all guests and exceptional customer service
- Setting up server/bussing station pre-shift according to the opening task list
- Bussing, bar backing, or assisting the Lead FOH, bartenders, or Restaurant Managers when needed based on the shift, maintaining a clean work environment.
- Familiar with cashiering or willingness to learn point of sales systems (POS).
- Assist in cashiering/taking payments from guests. Understanding/training of our POS system. Must have basic computer knowledge.
- Keep organized! FOH staff will need to make sure all utensils, dishware, silverware, and glassware are polished and properly put back and clean.
- Assist in cleaning and maintaining building assets, i.e. rugs, bathroom appliances, etc.
- Make coffee for guests and set up the coffee station, snacks, beverages, and water station
- Assist the culinary team by taking orders at our POS and accepting transactions
- Serving and expediting dishes to the guest.
- Checking IDs and adhering to DABS guidelines
- Must adhere to the specific opening/closing/and side task lists for each shift
- Adhere to Bower Lodge Policy and Procedures
- Reports directly to the Restaurant Manager and Assistant Restaurant Manager
- Clean, tidy appearance and excellent hygiene

Work Requirements:
- Entry-level FOH position, no experience required, but preferred (will require more training)
- Current Utah Food Handlers Permit
- Current Sips & Tips Certification
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable Transportation.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to continually bend, kneel, and reach
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, consistently.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8+ hours)

Work Environment: Generally, in an indoor setting with occasional exposure to outdoor environment. While performing duties of this job, the employee will be frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions or cold weather. Working in a potential slippery environment.
