Food Safety Compliance Specialist - Roche Bros. Supermarkets

Roche Bros. is looking for a skilled Food Safety Compliance Specialist to assist the Food Safety Manager with ensuring compliance with all food safety and sanitation laws and regulations in assigned store locations. The Food Safety Compliance Specialist’s goal is to maintain a food-safe and healthy environment for all customers, associates, and vendors.

1. Must have high-school diploma or equivalent.
2. Advanced degree preferred.
3. A willingness to acquire additional training and certification, including HACCP and SQF Practitioner training, within six months of being hired. 
4. Familiarity with retail grocery operations preferred.
5. Excellent leadership, communication, training and team building skills. 
6. Good writing, statistical, analytical and critical thinking skills. 
7. Ability to effectively respond to the concerns of managers, subordinates, customers, and regulatory agencies. 
8. Excellent organizational skills. 
9. Computer skills on MS platform. 

1. Maintain and improve the food safety regulations in our stores and with our products.
2. Provide leadership, guidance, assistance, and training to store management team.
3. Meet and exceed customer requirements and effectively communicate with customers as requested. 
4. Investigate customer food safety complaints using root cause analysis; determine corrective actions and preventative measures; respond to customer’s complaints in the required timeframe and analyze complaint trends. 
5. Clearly communicate food safety and quality objectives with production, maintenance, and vendors. 
6. Report food safety and quality issues, corrective actions, and preventative measures to the Food Safety Manager. 
7. Ensure training is effective for operations, sanitation, and maintenance staff in basic food hygiene, GMP's, HACCP, allergen control and other food safety and quality requirements. 
8. Assist Food Safety Manager with store food safety audits on a regular basis and generate reports for each area (personal hygiene, temperature control, cross contamination control, pest control, and chemical use training) 

1. Monitor and assist stores to comply with local, state, and federal food safety and health standards.

1. Participate in any third-party compliance audits and react quickly to any identified concerns. 

1. Assist with additional compliance processes such as recall programs, TIPS certifications, aisle scanner certifications, permit renewals, and individual town bylaws.
2. Develop and foster active working relationships with State/Local health officials in all towns of responsibility.
