Are you passionate about food safety and quality? Do you have a knack for ensuring that every product meets the highest standards? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! We are seeking a Food Safety and Quality Specialist for our dynamic manufacturing team. This is a crucial role that ensures our products are safe, consistent, and of the highest quality. The specialist will work closely with multiple departments to ensure all food safety and quality standards are met.
Responsibilities:
As a Food Safety and Quality Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations regarding food safety and quality. This includes understanding and adhering to FDA, USDA, and other relevant guidelines.
2. Conducting regular swab and ATP tests to monitor and ensure cleanliness and safety throughout the manufacturing process.
3. Implementing and maintaining Quality Control (QC) systems to ensure product consistency and quality.
4. Participating in regular audits, both internal and external, and taking necessary actions based on audit findings.
5. Collaborating with the production team to address any food safety or quality concerns, and implementing corrective actions as needed.
6. Training staff on food safety and quality protocols, ensuring that all team members are aware of and adhere to these standards.
7. Regularly reviewing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to reflect current best practices in food safety and quality.
8. Managing and responding to customer complaints regarding product quality, working to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Food Safety and Quality Specialist position will have:
1. A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a food safety or quality assurance role within the manufacturing industry.
3. Strong knowledge of FDA, USDA, and other food safety and quality regulations.
4. Proficiency in performing swab and ATP tests.
5. Experience in implementing and maintaining QC systems.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment.
7. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
8. A commitment to continuous learning and improvement in the field of food safety and quality.
