- Full Time/Non-Exempt
- Schedule: Must be able to work flexible schedule; Monday thru Friday 9:00AM to 6:00PM, some weekends 9:00AM to 6:00PM, subject to change to meet program needs.
- $31,200 annually
Description
The Bridge is seeking a Food Services Aide who provides supportive services in the food services program in 100-bed emergency shelter for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and individuals experiencing homelessness to ensure compliance with grant guidelines.
- Assist Food Services Manager and cook(s) in preparing/serving daily meals.
- Conduct daily inventory of food inventory to ensure that kitchen is fully stocked.
- Responsible for the organization and maintenance of the food pantry, to include the walk-in freezer and walk-in cooler.
- Conduct twice yearly complete inventory of all food products and update inventory spreadsheet.
- Assist with picking up donation of food products from Houston Food Bank, Houston Food Bank Retail and Harvest Programs and handle all other community based donations.
- Monitor and assist staff with meal preparation and serving of food to ensure food handling safety rules are enforced.
- Ensure food storage and kitchen areas are kept clean and orderly.
- Assure proper temperatures and methods of food storage to include recording daily freezer/cooler temperatures.
- Assist Food Services Manager with all relevant documentation to meet program requirements, including CACFP meal production records, uploading data to Houston Food Bank Portal and other donation documentation requirements.
- Other duties assigned to meet the needs of Food Services program.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Food Handler's Certificate required.
- Must be computer literate.
- Must be organized and pay attention to detail.
- One year experience in food preparation.
Other Requirements
- Must pass criminal background investigation check
- Must pass drug screen
- Must provide and maintain current TX Driver’s License
- Must provide and maintain clean driving record and annually update driving record
- Must provide and maintain current auto liability insurance
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S
- Must be able to lift/carry (40) lbs, and ascend/descend stairs in emergency shelter setting.
