Food Service Attendant - Cafeteria - Anne Arundel Medical Center

Position Objective:

Supports the goals and objectives of the Food and Nutrition Services Department by performing the functions of various areas including: cafeteria, sanitation, food production, diet office, catering, coffee shop, tray assembly, and tray passer.

Essential Job Duties:

1. Serves from the steam table and grill/deli lines for any meal.
2. Performs duties of a float person in the cafeteria, including restocking and preparing for the next meal.
3. Serves proper portions of food according to established guidelines.
4. Follows cleaning schedule for assigned duties.
5. Performs cashier duties, includes filling out settlement and deposit sheets correctly and getting all necessary items for the meal coupons.
6. Unloads dirty trays, dishes/pans from carts and places them in the dish room.
7. Properly pulls products as need. Labels and dates all necessary food items.
8. Has a general knowledge of the products being served.
9. Leaves workstation clean and sanitized.
10. Demonstrates good customer service skills, includes acknowledging customers and attending to their needs.

Educational/Experience Requirements:

The minimum level of education and experience for this position includes:

• Demonstrated ability to read and write and follow written and oral instructions.
• Must be available to work shifts starting at 5:30am or ending at 8:00pm. Must be available for weekend work.
• No experience required.
