Food Service Director
The Adrian Dominican Sisters are seeking a Food Service Director for our Motherhouse campus in Adrian, MI. We are looking for a knowledgeable leader who will provide and maintain a quality assurance program and leadership for services and staff in the food service department. This position manages our Food and Dietary Services department of 25-30 employees.
What we do: At the Adrian Dominican Sisters Motherhouse campus, our exceptional team consists of nursing, administrative, environmental service, maintenance, and food service coworkers who take great pride in providing the Adrian Dominican Sisters with a safe, home-like environment during their retirement.
Pay and Hours: 85-95K based on experience. 40 hours per week. May be required to work some evenings, holidays and weekends as needed. Required to be on call during off shifts as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Organizes and effectively directs the Food Service Department for campus.
- Responsible for all administrative duties associated with directing department.
- Hires, trains, supervises and evaluates all dietary co-workers.
- Responsible for promoting an atmosphere of hospitality through regular training, communication, and modeling for/with co-workers.
- Oversees the ordering all food and supplies needed in the Food Service Department.
- Establishes departmental regulations and procedures, including safety policies and procedures.
- Responsible for planning menus.
- Oversees the preparation of meals, assures a variety of foods, tray delivery, portion sizes and checks on customer satisfaction of food served on campus.
- Responsible for contracts which include Registered Dietician consultant and service contracts for equipment.
- Liaison with other departments to ensure food service needs are met on campus.
- Maintains records of operational costs and prepares monthly reports.
- Responsible for preparing the annual budgets.
- Demonstrates proper leadership and reinforces a positive attitude towards safety in the workplace by providing a good example of safe behavior, by intervening to correct inappropriate behavior and conduct training, and by enforcing all health and safety policies in a proactive manner.

Qualifications:
Education: Minimum education is a bachelor's degree of science concentrating in Dietetics or Food and Nutrition.
Experience: At least 3-5 years in a supervisory position for the food service department in a health care environment or in the Commercial Food Services industry. At least 3-5 years of experience utilizing the skills and abilities listed below.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to respond well under pressure. Ability to adjust and rearrange priorities. Ability to function successfully in a changing environment. Must have good communication skills. Ability to deal with a variety of personalities. Initiative and self direction.
Physical: Must be able to sit, stand, and move up to 8-hours per day. Must be able to frequently stoop, bend, reach, and carry approximately 35 pounds. Must be sighted and capable of hearing. Annual influenza vaccination is required for this position.
