Sodexo is seeking a Food Service Manager 2 for our prestigious client Vinson Hall Retirement Community in McLean, VA. This position will oversee dining room operations for the independent living residents, the bistro as well as special catering events. Will report to the General Manager and manage a staff of approximately 30 hourly employees. Must be able to work a flexible schedule - hours may vary with the ability to rotate every other weekend required.

• two or more years of food service management experience in the restaurant or senior living industry; prior catering experience a plus;
• a passion for food service and a high level of customer service;
• strong leadership skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed;
• excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy working with seniors in an active, fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will:

• oversee the day-to-day food service operations for the Independent Living residents;
• manage and develop a team of associates to include training and daily scheduling;
• ensure food quality, safety and presentation of the residents meals;
• collaborate with other departments to enhance the resident dining experience;
• oversee special events held in various dining venues on campus; and
• have working knowledge of HACCP protocols for regulatory compliance.
