The purpose of the Food Service Department is to enhance CCV’s ability to be a destination point for the unchurched, promote fellowship for attendees, and to support the staff in growing their ministries in the aspects of making people feel comfortable while on our campus. The Food Service / Operations Team Lead position will oversee the Coffee Shop and Grill, and enhance CCV’s ability to be a destination point for the unchurched, promote fellowship for attendees, and to support the staff in growing their ministries in the aspects of making people feel comfortable while on our campus.
Job DescriptionJob Responsibilities:
Effectively communicate, recruit & develop the food service teams & coaches
Recruit one coach for any volunteer team larger than three and less than 12
Oversee coaches & assist them in reaching their full potential in their areas, including:
Coffee Shop
Grill
Model positive, authentic, and caring behavior and communicate the vision of CCV
Coordinate with the coaches to ensure adequate staffing in the ministry areas and establish baselines
Utilize tools in the Rock Toolbox to manage, coach, and train volunteers
Follow up with all contacts/prospective coaches by phone to plug them into serving
Make personal contact with all new volunteers
Ensure volunteers have the necessary supplies for their shift
Recruit volunteers for campus events
Track ministry goals & objectives for the year
Track ministry volunteer engagement and encourage Next Steps for all team members
Communicate with facilities teams on construction items, projects, and facilities maintenance issues
Run the Café & Coffee Shop and Grill in conjunction with Maricopa County health regulations
Ensure all recipes are followed, and any off-menu items are communicated in advance with the Food Service Ministry Lead
Oversee all Food preparation and distribution to the standards set by the health department
Walk with the health inspector any time they visit. Communicate to the Food Service Ministry Lead all inspection reports upon completion of inspection
Maintain excellence in the grill, café, and coffee shop appearance and follow through on routine cleanliness checks
Operate the POS systems and handle deposits within the guidelines set by the CCV accounting department
Maintain & clean equipment and have a scheduled cleaning list for all equipment, including but not limited to espresso machines, ovens, under counter and full-size refrigerators, freezers, coke machines, floors, ice machines, blenders, burners, and grills, and brewers
Partner with other Guest Services and Ministry staff for all events to make sure they are supported and staffed appropriately
Incorporate a customer service-oriented approach when dealing with church staff, volunteers, and participants of CCV.
Campus Entry/Security: Maintaining the use of the campus, ensuring the proper doors and access points are open and closed for and after scheduled events, including restrooms.
General Campus Operations: Maintain trashcans, sidewalks/sitting areas, restrooms, and eating areas throughout the campus and sports fields. Pressure washing and mail delivery.
Facility/Event Schedule: Using the facility schedule, adequately execute room setups for events, including tables and chair configurations, table skirting, and specific ministry needs.
Room Management: Inspecting rooms and buildings before events and connecting with the event leader before the event to make sure all needs are met, including temperature settings, doors and access, room configurations, and last-minute needs and details.
Customer Service: Incorporate a customer service-oriented approach with all staff and volunteers when dealing with church staff, volunteers, and participants of CCV.
Pastoral Care
Provide Pastoral care to people as needed. This includes, but is not limited to, weddings, funerals, baptisms, hospital/hospice calls, and baby dedications
Leverage the ministry resources to support members of your AOR, i.e. Life Training, Counseling, etc.
While most of the time, you will be caring primarily for the people in your area of responsibility, it is understood that Pastoral Care is to be a “team effort” and therefore, you may be asked to help people in other areas as needed
Community Relations
Develop relationships with key members and organizations within your region (school, restaurant leaders, business leaders, city officials, etc.)
Encourage relationship between CCV Volunteers and community leaders
Encourage members of your team to move through our Next Steps
Work with Associate Pastor to help identify potential Neighborhood Group leaders and potential group participants

Education & Experience
- Minimum 2 years of food industry experience required
- Food Handler’s Card is necessary
- Understanding of kitchen processes is required
- High School diploma/equivalent
Working Conditions
- Weekday and weekend shifts (both Saturday and Sunday, with time off to attend a service)
- Standing on feet for entire shift
- Repetitive motions including but not limited to: bending, lifting, cutting
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Extreme temperatures (hot and cold)
