GENERAL SUMMARY
Food Service Supervisor aids management in overall responsibility of food service in accordance with CHKD company policy/procedures, federal, state and local regulations. Reports to department leadership.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Based on corporate and client objectives, help to develop plans to meet these objectives in conjunction with his/her supervisor.
- Review with the General Manager and production staff daily, their plans to meet storage, production and service needs.
- Aid in training of staff on a continual basis and responsible optimal utilization of labor.
- Aid during necessary cafeteria surveys and direct contact with customers so as to be aware of customer acceptance of the food program.
- Develop working rapport with the staff.
- Act on customer complaints, suggestions or requests immediately.
- Keep personal work areas clean, neat and efficiently arranged in accordance with company policy, state, federal, and local regulatory requirements.
- Maintains compliance with company policy, standards of operation and Employee Handbook.
- Maintains all records and documentation necessary for regulatory compliance and in accordance with CHKD policies and procedures.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Required Education and Experience
- Prior food service experience required.
- At time of hire, a record of completion for all education, licenses, training and/or certifications is required.
- Preferred Education and Experience
- One year supervisor/lead experience preferred.
- Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to communicate (verbal and written) effectively.
- Ability to work well under time constraints; apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate effectively with team members, various levels of management, and internal and external contacts.
WORKING CONDITIONS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to extreme cold and extreme heat.
