Position Summary
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: Hosting, which includes taking patient’s meal/food order for breakfast, lunch and dinner, reviewing diet orders, food allergies, and utilizing technology application in placing food orders. Cashiering, which includes utilizing POS (Point of Sales) system, cash transactions, verifying cash drawer, accurately giving change, counting cash receipts, and filing out cash reports. In addition, responsibilities will also include food preparation, stocking, assembling meals, delivery and retrieval of trays, sanitation/cleaning duties, pot and dish cleaning, cafeteria service, and catering service. Functions will vary according to assignments.

Education & Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Competency in select computer/software applications
- Cashier or Hostess experience preferred

Physical/Mental Demands/Requirements & Work Environment
- Standing/walking up to 7.5 hours, lifting up to 50 pounds, grasping, pulling, pushing, carrying, repetitive movement, stooping, bending, reaching, climbing, and kneeling
- Ability to perform routine repetitive duties.
- Ability to acknowledge and greet patients, visitors and all customers.
- Ability to read a menu and menu ticket, read and verbalize a patient’s name, ability to work under pressure, and the ability to maintain an even temperament in stressful situations.
- Ability to count change and use POS system. Ability to perform arithmetic operations involving all United States monetary units (add, subtract, multiply, and divide) in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money, weigh measurement, and volume. Must be able to differentiate between monetary units.
- Communicates frequently with patients who may have questions and requires exchange of accurate information.
- May be exposed to wet and humid conditions and to chemicals necessary to perform required tasks. Any hazardous chemicals the employee maybe exposed to are listed in the hospital’s SDS (Safety Data Sheet) data base and accessed through the hospital’s Intranet site (Employee Tools/SDS Access). A copy of the SDS data base can also be found at the hospital switchboard, saved on a disc.

Salary Range: $30,747.21-$39,771.42
