The CFAC is dedicated to supporting and empowering children and families affected by abuse, neglect, and domestic violence. Our organization offers comprehensive services, including a residential program that provides a safe and nurturing environment for women and children in crisis. We are seeking a dedicated and organized Food Services Coordinator to manage our food services program and ensure that our residents receive nutritious, high-quality meals.
The Food Services Coordinator will oversee all aspects of food services within our residential program. This role involves planning, coordinating, and managing meal services to meet the nutritional needs of our residents. The ideal candidate will have experience in food service management, a strong understanding of nutrition, and a commitment to providing exceptional care to those we serve.
Responsibilities could include:
Meal Planning: Develop and implement nutritious meal plans that meet the dietary needs and preferences of residents, including accommodating special dietary requirements and allergies.
Food Preparation: Oversee the preparation and serving of meals, ensuring that food is prepared safely and in accordance with health and hygiene standards. Manage kitchen and volunteers involved in food preparation.
Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory of food supplies and kitchen equipment. Order and purchase food and supplies as needed, ensuring cost-effective purchasing and minimizing waste.
Budget Management: Manage the food services budget, tracking expenses and ensuring that spending aligns with financial guidelines. Prepare reports on food services expenditures and program efficiency.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal food safety regulations and guidelines. Implement and monitor sanitation practices to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
Resident Engagement: Engage with residents to understand their food preferences and dietary needs. Provide educational resources on nutrition and healthy eating as part of a holistic approach to their care.
Program Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the food services program. Solicit feedback from residents and staff to identify areas for improvement and implement changes as needed.
Catering: Provide catering services to meetings, events and other business-related needs for the CFAC.
Qualifications:
- Relevant certifications in food safety and nutrition are a plus.
- Proven experience in food service management, including meal planning, food preparation, and inventory management. Experience in a residential or nonprofit setting is preferred.
- Strong understanding of nutrition, dietary needs, and food safety regulations.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage a busy kitchen and coordinate with various stakeholders.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and support residents and work collaboratively with staff and volunteers.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Commitment to confidentiality, ethical standards, and the mission of the organization.
- Bilingual skills (Spanish or other languages) are a plus.
