Forensic Screener - Delray Beach, FL
MAJOR RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Coordinates with the State Attorney and Public Defenders office in regards to client’s cases.
- Visit Jail – In order to complete Mental Health Assessments: LOCUS, ROI, Outpatient Questionnaire, SSA ROI.
- Attend Forensic Team Meetings at SCMHC and Multilingual.
- Have weekly team meetings before and after Mental Health Court
- Collect all necessary information available relating to the individual charges and Mental Health history.
- Communicate with evaluators to offer community information on available services
- Competency Training: Multilingual, Legacy, Belle Glade Clients. If needed SCMHC.
- Attend Mental Health Count
- Attend Discharge Calls: Forensic Hospital, Multilingual, and Legacy
- Complete Transitional Vouchers, Letters Addressed to the Court, Circuit Transfers, Referrals, Dropping off Monthly Rent Checks, Med Clinic, Intake, Monthly Reports, Face to Face meetings, Hospital Visits (When Needed)
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services and 1 year of experience in a mental health and/or forensic setting, one of which must be court/forensic related.
- Knowledge of F.S. 916 and 394
PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Master’s Degree in Human Services and experience working with mentally ill offenders involved in the criminal justice system.
- Certified Criminal Justice Specialist or Forensic Counselor through ACCFC or NAFC.
