General Summary:Forklift Operators will operate powered industrial trucks to safely and efficiently load/unload materials, pick orders, stow product, and organize materials, within our warehouse. In addition to forklift operation, this role will involve performing general warehouse duties to support the overall logistics of the company. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety are essential in ensuring the smooth and effective operation of our warehouse.
Responsibilities:- Safely operate forklifts to move, stack, and organize products within the warehouseLoad and unload goods from trucks and containers, ensuring products are properly staged and secured
- Obtains copy of production schedule or shipping order and transports material or equipment to and from designated areas in the warehouse
- Responsible for stacking goods in the correct storage bays, following inventory control instructions
- Stacks empty pallets in designated areas
- Performs routine daily maintenance checks on forklifts and reports any issues to maintenance department or Supervisor
- Works closely with other team members to coordinate tasks and ensure the efficient flow of products through the warehouse
- Examining products to verify conformance to quality standards
- Assists with various warehouse tasks, including picking/packing orders, wrapping pallets, and keeping the warehouse clean and organized
- Performs other warehouse duties as assigned
- 2+ years warehouse experience required
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role
- Valid forklift certification
- Proven experience operating a forklift in a warehouse environment
Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to be certified to drive stand up and sit-down forklifts (if applicable)
- Superior attention to detail
- Good interpersonal and customer communication skills
- Must possess excellent organizational skills; detail-orientated with strong follow through skills
- Demonstrate a high degree of awareness of safety, accuracy, and productivity
- Ability to read and comprehend pick tickets, receiving slips, and instructions in English
- Enjoy a fast-paced environment that is constantly changing
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Ability to pass criminal background, drug screen, and reference checks
Work Conditions/ Physical Demands:
- Employees must be able to work in a typical warehouse environment where there may be uneven floor surfaces
- Employees must be able to work in a warehouse environment where temperatures in the warehouse may vary based on climate change
- Employees must be able to bend, squat, twist, stand, lift, climb, and walk for long periods of time
- Employees must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Employees must be able to wear closed toed shoes for long periods of time
- Ability to climb onto uneven surfaces
- Ability to pull and push products that weigh up to 60 pounds
