Must be forklift certified.
Must operate the reach, order picker, sit-down & dock sticker !
Must be available for mandatory overtime INCLUDING WEEKENDS!!!
The Forklift Driver/Picker is responsible for moving materials within the warehouse and the loading/unloading of materials onto or from vehicles utilizing a forklift, reach truck, order picker or other heavy material handling equipment.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Forklift Driver/Picker can be responsible for receiving, storing, picking, packing, verification, shipping/manifesting and other various duties as assigned to ensure the full and efficient operation of the Distribution Center. To do well in this role you need to perform the following:
· Maneuvering forklifts safely in busy industrial environment
· Safely stacking and unstacking large quantities of goods onto shelves or pallets
· Moving goods from storage areas to loading areas for transport
· Unloading deliveries and safely relocating the goods to their designated storage areas
· Ensuring that forklift driving areas are free from spills or obstructions
· Regularly checking forklift equipment for faults or damages
· Using industrial plastic wraps and wooden pallets to safely stack and package goods for transport
· Keeping up to date on health and safety requirements and forklift operating procedures
· Consolidating partial pallets for incoming goods
· Ensure health and safety policies are in compliance with OSHA regulations
Working Environment:
· Will spend significant time on the production floor, with frequent communication between local employees/mgmt. and key customer contacts
· Able to work extended hours when production dictates
· Able to lift up to 50 lbs. on an as needed basis
Duties:
- Operate pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment to move and transport materials
- Load and unload trucks using pallet jacks and forklifts
- Build and wrap pallets according to specifications
- Perform inventory control tasks, such as counting and verifying incoming and outgoing shipments
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times
Experience:
- Previous experience operating pallet jacks, forklifts, reach trucks, clamp trucks, cherry pickers, or other warehouse equipment
- Mechanical knowledge to perform routine maintenance on equipment
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes in a warehouse environment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet productivity goals
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing duties
