Forklift Operator
Pay rate: $24.20/hr
Hours: 2nd shift, 3 p.m. - 11 p.m.
Location: Savannah, GA
Duration: 1-2 months, possible extension
Duties and Responsibilities:
This position will be responsible for all material control functions including shipping, receiving, maintaining rack storage locations, labeling, wrapping and packing finished goods and incoming raw materials. This person will also work closely with the Production and Batching teams to ensure that the production line and batching tower is constantly supplied with the required raw materials. Duties and Responsibilities:
This position will be responsible for all material control functions including shipping, receiving, maintaining rack storage locations, labeling, wrapping and packing finished goods and incoming raw materials. This person will also work closely with the Production and Batching teams to ensure that the production line and batching tower is constantly supplied with the required raw materials. Your responsibilities:
- Comply with all Federal regulatory Hazardous Waste procedures as well as all local and state regulatory requirements.
- Comply with all DOT handling and shipping regulatory requirements for Hazardous Materials.
- Be or become certified for all industrial equipment required to operate their position.
- This will include sit down electric forklifts, electric reach trucks, and electric pallet trucks.
- Assist in performing physical inventories.
- Responsible for the put-away of all raw materials and finished goods.
- This includes using scanning equipment that is tied into DSI/JDE One World and labeling raw materials and finished goods.
- Responsible for package preservation which includes the shrink wrapping, banding, and staging of all finished goods.
- Be an effective trainer for new hires.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. 1-2 years’ experience in shipping, receiving, and inventory control, preferably in a warehouse in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience operating forklifts & pallet jacks is highly desired.
- Some experience with automated inventory control and scanning systems desired.
- Good communication skills along with the ability to work well as a member of a team.
- Must be able to lift heavy objects (50 lbs.) on a regular and consistent basis.
